CrossCode is a stellar game that mimics an MMO, but solves the repetitive nature of that genre by turning it into a single-player action game, utilizing the genre’s lyricism in a magnificent way.

CrossCode is a decidedly fantastic revival of the old-school action RPG à la Secret of Mana of old, with a high degree of polish and a great story.

CrossCode is a fantastic package that sits as one of 2018’s best indie games. In a year that launched Celeste, Dead Cells and Into the Breach, it’s no easy award to give, but CrossCode achieves this thanks to its great action RPG gameplay set in a believable MMORPG world, beautiful visuals, additive, responsive and challenging combat, smart dungeon design and some wonderful music. It’s a complete package that is bold enough to take the clichés of the genre and run with its own spin on them, and it isn’t going to burn holes in anyone’s pockets with its nicely priced £14.99, which gives players a lot of bang for their buck, top quality bang at that.

A labour of love that serves as homage to 16-bit RPG classics and MMOs, but also manages to stand on its two feet, even though technically not everything is as solid as it should be.

CrossCode is a funky, charming and sometimes even too extensive action RPG with a pleasant nostalgic side.

Crosscode is an amazing adventure with more than 50 hours of content, charming retro graphics, likeable characters and tons of challenging puzzles. Jumping and aiming can get a little fiddly and a bunch of the brainteasers are simply too demanding, but if you bite through these slightly frustrating moments, you will get more than your money's worth.

CrossCode is a beautiful world loaded with puzzles of all kinds. If you can find your center among this storm of separate genres, you might really enjoy this game.

This is one of my favorite games this year. One problem with it right now is that there isn't a lot of story, but again its in beta. For 20$This is one of my favorite games this year. One problem with it right now is that there isn't a lot of story, but again its in beta. For 20$ you get 15+ hours of single player fun. And that's with the beta. Even more when the full game releases. I would recommend this game even before I would recommend AAA titles like BF1 and Titanfall 2. Very good game! The graphics and animations look phenomenal and the work that has been put into this game was probably very much! The musicVery good game! The graphics and animations look phenomenal and the work that has been put into this game was probably very much! The music reminds me of a lot of classic games and it is quite motivating too. If you're looking for a game that reminds you of the good old SNES era this game is perfect for you.

I cannot understand why so many people rate it so badly. The work that went into this game is probably more than the work that went into any other indie game I know.
